The IBZ is a partner in the nationwide project „RespACT – Living diversity. Showing attitude.“ of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft katholisch-sozialer Bildungswerke (AKSB).
The project aims to strengthen young people against various forms of extremism, racism and group-based hostility through political education. The educational work encourages young people to develop their personalities. This is done by working out the self-efficacy and self-empowerment of young people and making them aware of issues of social diversity and their social role. This includes being able to represent their own opinions and respect the opinions of others. They practice living together peacefully in a democratic and diverse society.
At the heart of RespACT is the collaboration of

  • political education
  • Youth social work (respect coaches/youth migration services) and
  • School (school social work, teachers).

Against this background, the IBZ, in consultation with the Respect Coaches of the Youth Migration Services and the teachers, conducts events on site at the schools, particularly on the following focal points:

  • Extremism (right-wing extremism/terrorism, left-wing extremism, religiously based extremism, foreign-related extremism)
  • Anti-Semitism, Racism and Colonialism
  • Fake News and Hate Speech
  • Bullying, disputes and team cohesion.
